In May of 2017, my daughter was due for a baptismal interview. I told the bishop in passing that I needed to be present for that interview. About a week later he asked me to meet with him, he had been thinking about my request. In that meeting I told him that in general I teach my children (girls especially) to not be alone with adult men and saying it’s ok if it’s at church is sending them mixed messages. I told him about my mother in law that was molested by ecclesiastical leaders, not LDS, and I intended to honor her plea to protect my girls however I can. He absolutely agreed and I was present for the interview. He said I had given him much to think about. He is a really good man!
