My adult daughter came to us 2 years ago to let us know that our Bishop in Bedford New Hampshire head sexually molested her at the age of 17 when she was going in to ask repentance for a situation.
That Bishop then proceeded to tell her that whatever she did with that boy she would have to do with him to be fully forgiven.
This is caused our daughter to have a terrible eating disorder and relationship issues, trust issues, and a gamut of problems stemming from this bishop in New Hampshire.
As a mom, I started to get in touch with lawyers and start proceedings against this bishop. I was told by some friends in the church it was probably not a good idea to do that.
My daughter asked me not to do anything more as she was trying to move on with her life and she knew that the church would turn this around on to her and she just cannot go through that.
Our whole family has now left the church not just because of this issue but does have a lot to do with it. We have also moved across the country because I think if my husband ever saw this man again he would do some serious harm. the crazy thing in all of this is that as you know being a member of the church everyone is so close and we thought this family was our friends.
I am angry, hurt, outraged at the protection of these bishop and stake president that the church has over them.
I wish I could sue the church for the damage that they have done not only to my daughter but to our family it is disgusting.
