This is a second hand story. Years ago, there was an older teenage boy, 17-19 that was having a sexual relationship with a 13 year old girl in the same ward. He was charged with statutory rape and sexual assault. At the time there was doubt of his guilt amongst members involved because the girl ~liked~ him. The stake president advised him to plead guilty (good) because he thought that would be the best for him spiritually and he thought he would get an easier sentencing. Fortunately, the boy was given the maximum sentence. Unfortunately, the stake president has held to this day that he was wrong in advising the boy the way he did because he didn’t really deserve the maximum sentence and now that poor boys life is ruined.
