I never had a bishop ask me explicit questions until I was 17. My next door neighbor who I babysat for became my new bishop. I went in to get my temple recommend. I had never been on a date or even alone with a boy so when he asked me about chastity I told him I didn’t have a problem with it and the reasons why, yet he proceeded to interrogate me for 45 minutes about oral sex, touching, and everything else. I felt violated as a young woman and I had never heard any of those terms until that interview. I felt ashamed just for talking about those terms with a man that I watched his kids once a week. I never met with a bishop again until I was applying for BYUH, but thankfully I had a different bishop. I stopped watching his kids and I never spoke to him again after that interview. Thank you Sam for your courage and strength to stand up for LDS children!
