Last week I was called to a position that requires interviews. I expressed my concern to the stk pres. about how interviews were conducted. I told him I would like to invite the parents to the interviews. He agreed that that would be ok. I told him about this site and that I thought there would be new policies in the future.
Yesterday the church announced new policies! It accommodates a parent attending interviews but does not require it. If not attending, the parent should be in an adjoining room.
When a member of a stake presidency or
bishopric or another assigned leader meets
with a child, youth, or woman, he or she
should ask a parent or another adult to be in
an adjoining room, foyer, or hall. If the person
being interviewed desires, another adult
may be invited to participate in the interview.
Leaders should avoid all circumstances that
could be misunderstood.
